Complimentary Colors |

|
Complimentary colors are made by mixing two out of three of the primary colors, that are red, blue and yellow. Therefore, by mixing red and yellow, one creates orange, that is a complimentary color. In Impressionism, a complimentary color is thought to be contained in the shadow of a primary color; thus, yellow would have violet in its shadows. |
