| “I discovered the beauty of stones while staying in Ceylon, in the years 1990-1993.
In Asia, stones have much significance for health, their relatively to the Zodiac, and so on…
Since that time, I have collect stones, always fascinated by their beauty.
Each one has its own temperature in a room, in the same way wood has its own temperature.
I have painted the amethyst in appreciation of its delicate nuances of violet skies, its transparences.
The celestial nuances of the amethyst bring me to associate golden colors to them, turning it into a spiritual effect as an icon.
In this painting I transformed the amethyst to become a woman, a model originating from La Habana.” |
