Floral Art

While floral art has always been popular, it is presently experiencing a growth spurt, with new and unique interpretations of classic imagery emerging. Floral imagery has taken on a new twist, with an emphasis on bright color and a more abstract approach as opposed to the traditional renderings of yesteryear. Younger collectors who are buying art are seeking a more contemporary look.

For example, Lenner Gogli’s floral works capture the warm side of nature and evoke the abstract emotions we sometimes feel looking at a rose, a petal or a patch of wilderness. Coupled with her powerful use of color and texture, her paintings are as profound as they are beautiful.

Bracha Guy’s still life and floral works are reminiscent of Fauvist artist, Matisse, with her bold use of color, while Alex Perez’s brightly colored floral landscapes capture a sense of harmony and quietude while at the same time exhibiting a contemporary palette. The lines of Avi Ben Simhon’s floral works remind us of Cubist painter Picasso while the rich textures are evocative of Van Gogh. These artists, leaders in their genre, successfully capture traditional subjects in a distinctly modern, individual stylez.

From a practical perspective, floral imagery is in demand because it is easy to incorporate into a variety of interior design themes and is credited with brightening up a home and providing a soothing atmosphere. A flower’s natural shape injects life into an interior. They come in many different colors, shapes and forms and imbue a sense of peace and tranquility.
